This page is for you.
EBA keeps some information so your practice works, shows your results and helps choose what you could try next. This page explains that in simpler words.
2. What EBA remembers
Things about your account: EBA may remember your name or nickname, avatar, age or school-year range, the adults linked to you and which tutor or class you have joined.
Things about your practice: EBA remembers the questions you answer, your score, accuracy, time, activities, level, personal bests, assignments and progress.
3. Why EBA uses it
EBA uses this information to:
- let you sign in and use your profile;
- show your score and progress;
- suggest a starting point or next activity;
- show work set by an approved adult;
- keep accounts safe; and
- fix problems with the service.
Practice is not a school decision
EBA does not use your practice results to decide whether you can go to a school or earn a qualification.
4. Who can see it
A parent or guardian linked to your profile can see your EBA activity and settings.
A tutor can see class information only after both the tutor and your parent or guardian approve the connection. Either adult can end the connection.
If a leaderboard is switched on, the people described in the setting may see your nickname, avatar, score, rank or achievement. Do not use your full legal name as a public nickname.
5. How recommendations work
EBA looks at things such as your answers, accuracy, time and past activities to suggest a level or next activity. Computers do this automatically so the practice can change with your results.
Recommendations can be wrong. Tell your parent, guardian or tutor if something looks much too easy, too hard or incorrect. They can contact EBA.
6. What EBA does not do
EBA does not:
- sell your information;
- use your scores to show you third-party personalised adverts;
- let a tutor see your profile without the approval process;
- expect you to accept legal terms or pay for a subscription;
- put your name, email address, answers or detailed practice information in the adult Outreach system; or
- send marketing or outreach emails to you.
7. How long EBA keeps it
If a paid subscription ends, your scores and progress are kept for no more than 30 days after access ends.
If the adult asks EBA to delete the account, it can usually be restored by email during the next 30 days. After that, the account and learning information may be gone for good.
A profile that has not been used for 12 months may be closed and deleted.
8. Your choices and questions
You can ask a parent, guardian or trusted adult to help you:
- see the information EBA has about you;
- fix information that is wrong;
- ask EBA to delete information; or
- raise a privacy or safety concern.

9. If something worries you
Stop using the feature and tell a trusted adult if anything on EBA or connected with an EBA tutor makes you worried, uncomfortable or unsafe. You or the adult can use the contact details on the Safeguarding page.
