1. Legal documents
These Terms cover adult accounts, child profiles, tutor tools, trials, paid plans and EBA Strategy. Subscriptions and cancellations explains billing, renewal, cancellation, cooling-off rights and refunds. The Privacy Notice explains how EBA uses information, including adult communications and outreach. Privacy for children gives a simpler explanation for children. Cookies, safeguarding and complaints each have their own page.
2. Who enters the contract
The adult account holder accepts EBA’s terms. A child does not enter the contract and is not responsible for subscription payments. Tutors may use free accounts professionally. EBA does not currently sell paid plans to schools or tuition companies.
3. Billing and cancellation
Trials offered by EBA cost £0. Stripe handles checkout. Before payment, checkout states whether a trial becomes a paid plan, the first payment date and the amount. Recurring subscriptions can be cancelled online. Progress linked to cancelled paid access is kept for no more than 30 days after access ends.
4. Account deletion and inactive profiles
Account deletion can be requested by email. A verified restoration request can be made during the 30-day deletion window. After that, ordinary account and learning information is deleted or anonymised. Profiles inactive for 12 months may be moved into deletion.
5. Tutor connections
A tutor connection only becomes active after both sides approve it. Either side can revoke it. EBA may also remove a connection for safety, privacy or security.
6. Adult outreach, marketing and analytics
EBA may communicate with adult account holders and adult prospects about EBA, subject to applicable law and their communication choices. The public site and demo use optional, consent-gated analytics to understand meaningful EBA journeys. An adult who intentionally follows a personalised EBA email link may create a recipient-linked outreach record; this is not described as anonymous analytics. EBA does not use email-open pixels, fingerprinting, session replay, heatmaps, third-party advertising pixels or child learning data for outreach.
7. Complaints
EBA acknowledges complaints within seven business days and aims to give a substantive response within 30 business days. Unresolved complaints do not remove the right to seek independent advice or use a court, regulator or other available route.
