Who is EBA built for?
EBA is built for children in UK Years 1–6 whose families want stronger foundations, short purposeful practice and progress they can see.
What happens in the first five minutes?
The public maths check gives you the first useful signal on where confidence or accuracy begins to drop. During the free trial, the fuller check maps the different areas and gives each one a starting point.
Does every child receive one overall level?
No. A child can be strong in one part of maths and need earlier support in another. EBA places the different maths families separately.
Will my child see a year-group judgement?
No. EBA avoids showing children labels that can feel embarrassing or limiting. They see the challenge, the result and the next level.
The practice
Why does EBA use repeated practice?
An explanation can introduce an idea. Repeated, well-pitched use helps children recognise it, retrieve it faster and apply it inside harder maths.
Does EBA replace lessons or teachers?
No. EBA is practice between the teaching moments around your child. It helps make that practice more targeted, responsive and visible.
Do I need to mark the work?
No. EBA marks each answer, gives immediate feedback and records the result. You can review the parent view without checking every question yourself.
What happens when my child gets something wrong?
The result helps EBA decide whether the idea needs another repetition, a different version or an easier supporting step before moving forward.
What are Pathfinders?
Pathfinders are narrower checks for children placed at the earliest stage in a maths family. They locate the missing foundation more precisely before practice begins.
Plans and payment
What is the difference between Practice and Guided?
With Practice, you choose the area and EBA manages the difficulty, questions, marking and progress. With Guided, EBA also chooses what your child should do next and balances weaker areas.
Are the harder stages locked behind Guided?
No. Both plans include the full Stage 0 to Stage 6 maths journey. The difference is how much planning EBA handles for you.
What happens during the free trial?
Your child completes the full maths check, receives starting placements and begins practice matched to their level. Practice and Guided both begin with a 7-day free trial.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. Families can move between Practice and Guided as their needs change.
Does EBA guarantee top grades or a particular future?
No. EBA builds practice, speed, accuracy and stronger foundations. Academic results and future opportunities also depend on the child, their wider education and consistent use.
EBA Maths Strategy
Who can apply for EBA Maths Strategy?
EBA Maths Strategy is available only to existing EBA families who have already used the platform and have a clear need for additional human guidance.
How many sessions are included?
EBA Maths Strategy costs £496 per child every 28 days. It includes EBA Guided, one full strategy review, a written action plan and up to four prebooked 60-minute sessions.
What does EBA Maths Strategy include?
No. EBA Maths Strategy is built around booked sessions. It does not include unlimited messaging, continuous monitoring or human review between calls.
Do unused sessions roll over?
No. Unused sessions do not move into the next 28-day cycle.
